To attain this, the nurse must have sympathy and empathy, should demonstrate courtesy, be kind and sincere. Also, they should assign more time to the patients for the patient communicate with the necessary confidentiality, and the nurse should keep in mind that communication includes only sick persons, which is why language barrier is to be condemned during the communication session. Importance of Communication in Nursing.

Working with a patient, a nurse should understand the vital role of having an excellent commutation skills and have the ability to keenly listen to their core workers and patients, so that they can bestow the best care for their client and keep the other nurses, other specialists, and doctors informed about the care and the treatment of the patient. In a place where a patient well-being is determined, high level of cooperation between the doctors, nurses and other medical is more important than the training, education and open communication. Good verbal and written communication is indispensable to all activities in nursing (Specialties, 2017).

The needs are confidence, love and feeling safe all their important during the patient’s recovery and treatment. Lastly, according to Nursing, (2016) communication in nursing does not only comfort the patients, but also the nurses. Nurses that commune well with the other medical workers, doctor and nurses tend to improve a better job satisfaction and moral as well. There are three components that make communication successful; they include communication goal should be set, the point of agreement and discussion boundary should be set and positive feedback or agree with the terms and conditions (Parikhal, 2017).

Communication in nursing is related to NMC code in several, and this are, in communication in nursing and NMS their goal is to meet the needs of the patient and make sure that the patient gets correct medication for a healthy outcome. They both monitor patients by assessing them and taking all the important required information into the count to use it for future references. Lastly, they both have assessment sessions for their patients or client to get an idea of what the patient is suffering from. This helps to reduce the medication error. Some of the communication barriers include noise, lack of interest, irrelevance, a distraction to the receiver, language barrier, emotional barrier, physical barrier to the nonverbal communication. Those patients that face language barrier the also face more risks in a medication error, unfavorable events, and so many complications.

 About emotional barriers, there is some patient finds it hard to express their emotional or feeling and some of the topics may be diverse to the required information. That patient that experience physical to communication that is non-verbal they are unable to see the non-verbal communication and make the communication between the individuals less effective (skills you need, 2017). While having a conversation with patients that are feeling tired, unwell, and sleepy, It becomes difficult to share information because the patient concentration is distracted making it difficult to withdraw some important information from them. Lack of eye contact to the nurse, if a patient does not maintain eye content with the nurse he or she might be distracted and some important instruction from the nurse high risk in a medication error.

Use of jargon is an example of a language barrier if the nurse or patient uses a complicated, technical or unfamiliar terms may lead to misunderstanding, and sometimes wrong information is taken into the count a cause medication error. Lastly inappropriate expressions, often if two individuals are having conversation expressions like nodding head should be included this is to know that the other person is getting what you are trying to convey if a patient does not give such response to the nurse it may cause wrong information taken down by the nurse and might bring complication and medical error.

It is a communication tool or model used to improve and illustrate mutual understanding and self-awareness between people within a group. It can also be used to improve and assess a group of the relationship between or within other a group. Harry Ingham and Joseph Luft devised it Johari window 1955 they were the American psychologists. It is now relevant due to the present-day influence of modern emphasis on empathy, sympathy, skills, cooperation, interpersonal development, soft and group of development.It is very important because it helps in understanding employers or employees in and a psychologic contract (Businessballs.com, 2017).

Johari window has four important quadratic and to make it easy to understand the four quadrants the table below will take you through that.The quadratic grid includes open, blind, hidden, and unknown area.The 1st Open area includes the things that you as an individual know about yourself and also what other people know about you, and good examples are behavior, skill, public history, knowledge, and attitude (Businessballs.com, 2017).The 2nd Blind area this are the thing that you don’t know about yourself, but other people knows about you.They are just simple information that you are not aware of, and they include rejection, incompetence, unworthiness and feeling of deficiency.The 3rd Hidden area this is things that people don’t know about you, but you as an individual knows it.Lastly, unknown area this are the thing that you don’t know about yourself and also other people don’t know about it.

Communication skill is a key to successful assesment and getting good results from patient medication.Nurses requires roles of communication skills , should have ability to deliver quality care,monitor own non verbal communication and need to understand messages from the patients to provide best care for them .This is important because it assists in avoiding errors in medication.There are quanciquences if there is communication barrier between the nurse and the patient and may lead to negative outcomes required.
