You have just started a new job. Where will you gather information from to clarify your role in implementing individualized plans?

Presently I have joined in Health scope as a Staff in the administrative department. Health scope is an Australian company, which mainly operates its business in the private hospitals, pathology section as well as in the medical centre’s. On the other hand, this company also operates its business in the surgical hospitals as well as the rehabilitation clinics. The company operates big chain of business in Australia. The company mainly manages and operates its business in 46 private hospitals, 7 mental health care centres and 6 Rehabilitation centre (healthscope.com.au , 2016). However, in 2015 the health scope company sold its pathology division to Crescent capital.

In most of the cases, I have found that the administrative department plays the most important role in the health care centre’s. The main function of the administrative department is to overall maintain and balance the functioning of the operations in an effective way in the hospitals. There are also several sub sections in the administration department. As this is my new job, it is better to gather information about the working style and the activities, which the company actually performs in Australia. One can get the relevant information about the company from the experienced work mates.  

 Before implementing a new plan in the company, it is mandatory to know how exactly, the company maintains and performs all the functions in various departments. In order to get vivid knowledge about the operating process, I have mainly asked the employees who are presently working in Health scope as a staff in the administrative department. From the staffs, I came to know that the Health scope hospital is one of the largest operators in Australia. The company also operates in the mental health centre’s, the patients who are mainly suffering from drug or alcohol abuse. All the departments maintain an effective communication chain process in order to perform the operations in a better way in the hospitals.

While communicating with them, I came to know that all the departments work coordinately with others in order to deliver the best quality services to the patients. Additionally, the company also engages the employees in an effective way in order to increase their efficiency level. From the staffs I also came to know that the company also conduct team meeting in order to work together with the other departments.

In order to know more about the company and their work process, I have also communicated with the staffs those who are presently going through an in-house training. From the staffs, I also came to know that the company also provides in house training to the staffs to improve their performance level.

Moreover, in order to get more information about the company, I also gone through the organizational policies and procedure, which the company mainly follows in order to run their business and operations in Australia. I also have also gone through the documents of the company in order to gain the exact job knowledge.

 From the working staffs I also acme to know that Health scope also provides formal training to the staffs. From the registered institution, the company gives proper training to the staffs in order to enhance their knowledge and skills. Through this, the staffs can effectively perform their job role in the organization. The main motto of the health care organizations is to provide proper facilities and care to the patients.

In order to acquire more understanding of the exact job role, I have also gone through a proper job description from the staffs. It has somehow helped to gain proper understanding of the exact role, which I need to perform in the hospital. Additionally, in order to collect more information about the operations and the activities of Heath scope, I have also gone through the past records of the company. This record has somehow helped me to get a clear picture of the company and its operation, which the company performs in Australia.

You have been asked to administer medication to a client as a part of implementing their individualized plan. This is outside the scope of your job role but your supervisor is asking you to take on this responsibility anyway. Should you carry out this task? Explain.

I think I am unable to perform this particular task, which has been assigned to me by the supervisor of the hospital. The company has recruited me as a staff in the administrative department. My main responsibility towards the company is to monitor and balance overall all the activities of all the department. The demand of the supervisor is totally out of the policy of the hospital. It will become highly risky, if I take the responsibility to administer medication to a client. This is totally not acceptable to administer medication to a client without having any knowledge.

Britt et al. (2013) commented that supporting a particular client and administer medication to a particular client is totally different In order to provide proper medication, the individual needs to have proper knowledge and understanding of the usage of drugs. In any case, if anything happens to the client due to over dose or wrong dose, the whole blame will come on me. Therefore, it is better that I should not take the responsibility of the client. This is basically the responsibility of the medical advisor to monitor the patients in a better way. The main responsibility of mine is to give proper support and facility to the patients.

What is strengths based approach?

The strength based approach is basically refers to the effective policies, procedures, practice methods and strategies which are mainly being adopted on the basis of the strengths of the children, families as well as communities (Chassin & Loeb 2013). On the other hand, the strength-based practice also shifts the deficit approach, which mainly gives emphasis on the problems and pathology, to a positive partnership with family. The strength-based approach basically helps the health care centre to shift and maintain the balance of care, facilities, and the service level of the hospital.

The strength-based approach mainly provides value to the capacity, skill, knowledge, connections and the potential of the individuals (Flottorp et al. 2013). By focusing on the strength-based approach, the individuals also focus on the challenges and the barriers. Additionally, the strength-based approach also helps to improve the practice level as well as the treatment programs in the hospitals. The strength-based practice also can improve the social network as well as well-being of the individuals.

Write a report explaining what you will need to understand and what you will need to do when participating in the implementation of individualized care plans. 

In order to develop and improve the service level, the Australian community based community sector is planning to implement individualized care plans. The individualized care plans will mainly be implemented in the aged care, mental health, AOD, youth justice, childcare, and disability. On the other hand, this individualized care plan will also be adopted in the residential home care as well as in the community care environment. The community service sector mainly provides services to the governmental as well as non-governmental agencies (Viswanathan et al. 2012). By implementing new plans, the organizations can provide better support to the individuals for their well-being.

Being a part of the administrative department, it was really difficult for me to take active participation in the implementation of the individualized care plan.   In case of the individualized care plan, there are several techniques and methods which the participants has to maintain for executing and implementing the plan in the right way in the care home and in the community care.

Before implementing the plan, at first I need to recognize the exact people in the community, who needs proper support and help from the governmental and non-governmental agencies. Being an active participant, at first I need to chalk out the requirements of the individuals and then implement the plan in different childcare centre’s, mental health care centre’s and disability centre’s. Before implementing the plan, the individual need to monitor each and every section very keenly and also need to understand what are the exact facilities the patients need to live their life in a better way.

During the participation, I have came across several things that how exact the agencies work together in order to improve the well-being of the patients. In order to execute the sketched plan, the individual need to develop an effective communication level in order to maintain the coordination level with all the department. Here all the individuals must involve themselves totally in the plan in order to execute in a better way. The main motto of the health care organizations is to provide best quality services and facilities to the individual. All the individuals must get equal kind of services in the health care unit or in the care homes.

While participating in the implementation of the plan, I have learned several things, which will help to work further in a health care centre. Before executing the plan, the participant also needs to check the exact symptoms of the individual patients and then continue the diagnosis. On the other hand, the organizations also need to consider the current social situation in order to implement the plan in different care homes and child care centre.

The individual care plan sometimes is also known as the care or support plan (Grol et al. 2013). By drawing effective individual care plan, the health care organizations try to provide proper care and facilities to the individual in the community. While executing the individual care plan, one must remember that at first they need to provide proper care and facility to the person who does need that help.

Through proper encouragement and support, the participants must help the individuals to lead their life in a different way. While participating in the individual care plan, I have come across one thing that both coordination and communication plays the most important role. Here the community teams work very closely with the individual patients to provide them high care and protection to the patients.
