Introduction:

The physician labors are referred to the medical professionals such as physicians and surgeons who are most deals with treating the injuries as well as illness. The major purpose of the physician labors are maintaining as well as enhancing the health and well being of the patients. The generic responsibilities of the physician labors are examining the patients, evaluating past medical records, prescribing medications as well as arranging and interpreting the necessary medical tests. In the current paper the general state of the physician labor of Mississippi State has been identified and analyzed discussed in a detailed fashion. In addition various trends regarding the specialty physician labor of Mississippi State has been evaluated in this paper.

Discussion:

It has been identified from various studies that the physician labors of the Mississippi State have been suffering from significant change in Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement. A high range of uninsured patients as well as large number of chronically ill patients also raises a great problem for the state physician labors (Gadbois et al., 2014). As the Mississippi State is a large rural state the majority of the patients find it difficult to find medical care due to excessive distance. In addition to that, the climate along with the relocation factor greatly hinders the recruitment as well as retention of the physician labors. It has been identified that only two physician labors can be found to every 1000 residents in the state of Mississippi. Moreover, the physician labors are not evenly distributed relative to the population of Mississippi State. It has been stated that 56% of the entire physician force are located in four urban areas of the state, which leaves behind 51 to 82 underserved counties (Hooker, Brook & Cook, 2016). It has been also identified that majority of physician labor i.e. 78% are male.

At the same time the extensive study on the general state of Mississippi physician labor force it has been disclosed that Mississippi has slightly more advantage in respect to having the specialty physician labors in comparison with the general physicians. However, Mississippi has the discrepancies with the national state of physicians (Kippenbrock et al., 2014). Mississippi has 7.5% of entire specialty physician labor force in comparison with 20% of physician labor. Mississippi consists of only 4% of physician labors as pediatricians. In addition to that, it has been also observed that the specialties physician labors are nearing towards the retirement (AAMC, 2016).

 

Conclusion:

From the above discussed research paper it can be identified that the physicians of Mississippi faces a great deal of the challenges such as climate, greater ill population, distance of medical care. Therefore, the physician labors are highly difficult to employ and retain in the Mississippi state. In this situation there are very small numbers of physicians are available in the respective state. Being a large rural state, citizens of Mississippi faces a great challenge in respect to finding the medical care due to physical distances. Therefore, Mississippi needs extensive development so that the physician labors can be recruited and retained.
