The universities have now developed the curriculum and course framing that includes internship programs which contributes to the growth and development of the students. It is important to mention that one of the main focus that universities have nowadays it to provide employment to its students and hence it became extremely important to provide a platform to the students where they will be able to prepare themselves and internship is the best way to inject effective knowledge and faith which would help them to compete in this highly competitive employment market. The normal professional career of a student is around 40 to 45 years and within an internship is basically for six months to 1 year which helps the students to understand the essentials of the corporate world. Another key benefit of internship is it provides valuable work experience and helps to gain weight in the CV in terms of professional experience which provides greater opportunities of placement. It helps to understand the corporate world better and hence nowadays business houses show propensity to hire graduates with internship experience. Overall it could be said that these two benefits provide upper hand to the students undergoing internship. It could also be laborious for students which are a huge disadvantage and one can feel low and disrespected which can put down the morale. Hence it is extremely important as an intern to understand do’s and don’ts which will help to make life easier as an intern.

This program has number of advantages for instance it prepares the students to develop their overall work practices, helps to implement conceptual knowledge in the pragmatic field and also helps to become more competitive which helps to survive in the highly competitive employment market. This initiative by these universities has helped students to gain insights about the real professional world and prepare themselves to compete in the market (Deakin.edu.au, 2016).
