Question:

Discuss about the Leadership in Business for Ecompasses Ability.

Answer:

Leadership is an art and a group of action that encompasses the ability and the skill of the individual or the organisation.   Leaders and leadership have an integral relationship to make the things right. According to the opinion of Jogulu (2010), leadership can motivate and inspire the group of people to engage in a single vision. The effective leaders can create an inspiring vision for the coming future. The leaders are the main entities who manage the delivery of the vision. Considering the opinion of Rolková & Farkašová (2015) leadership can provide information, method and knowledge to realise the vision.  Coordinating and balancing the conflicting interest of the subordinates is maintained by the leaders. The study attempts to highlight the effectiveness of leadership, both for the organisation and the self-development. The critical analysis of the implication of the leadership has been done in the study to understand the major benefits of the leadership.

From this current module, I have learned that leadership is nothing but an ability to influence the group of people for achieving the predetermined vision or set of goals. The study has helped me to understand that leadership is a complex phenomenon that includes a substantial interaction between the leaders and the followers. Depending on the situation, the leaders have the credibility to deal with the situation for achieving the organisational goals (Steiner, 2013). The current research has helped me to understand that the situational determinants are the major factors that make potential leaders for the future. The obeying of organisational goals and objectives are the primary focus of the leaders.  It has been speculated that the followers of the organisation need to preserve the corporate value by following the set of rule preset by the leaders. I have perceived that the leadership exists only in the relationship between the leaders and the followers. The topic has helped me to understand several aspects of the leadership. After analysing the entire research, I know that leadership is a process, not a position. In the opinion of Saini (2015), Leadership is an innovative process which can inspire the subordinates towards the organisational goal. Thus, I came to know that a good leadership style can motivate the and unite the group of people within the organisation.

Leadership is beneficial for the self-development process as it is helpful to deliberate a systematic and smooth activities in one’s life. In the opinion of Ruderman (2008), leadership is essential to improve cognitive skills and the technical skills. After going through from the research, I have come to know that in order to improve interpersonal skill leadership is highly significant. Adding to this, leadership is also valuable to improve self-competence. The skill of the personnel would have become high if experience a systematic administration.

In the case of organisational development, leadership is required to ensure future competitive advantage. Leadership development for an organisation is important to operate a smooth running business process within the organisation (Greenstein, 2009). In the addition, leadership can make a team environment within the workplace. I have perceived that for the business operation a god leadership style is highly required to achieve the organisational goals and objectives. Thus, every organisation hires HR associate to initiate the organisational success by uniting the employees within the specific leadership style. Considering the view of Jogulu (2010), the significance of leadership could influence the organisation by adopting an effective set of policy to motivate all the organisational members.  On the other hand, good leadership style can promote a positive attitude towards the organisation. As per the opinion of Hicks (2013), effective leadership style can reduce the complaints of the employees and uphold a good organisational culture. During the study, I came to know that leadership has the element to foster a team-building attitude within the organisation. Utilisation of all the resources and increasing the organisational productivity is the other main benefits of the leadership (Bhatti et al. 2012). Hence, it could be inferred that leadership is equally significant both for the organisational development and self-development process.

The leadership study would help me to become a good leader for the coming future. I would like to share my knowledge amongst the students in future where I can evaluate my perception and knowledge regarding the domain.  I perceived that every organisation must have a potential leader and the HRM practitioners to execute the organisational performance smoothly and efficiently. As the leaders are the most beneficial factor of the organisational development and growth, I realised that in every business operation and the other organisation there has to be a good leader to improve the profitability of the organisation. Thus, I could infer that I have to become a good leader to lead the respective job and other related operations. I would like to follow the approach of transformational and participative leadership style within my organisation as these two best fitted for improving the organisational performance.

The present business scenario reflects that the employees are highly focused on the participative leadership concept. The organisations that operate with the autocratic and the bureaucracy concept necessitated requires transforming the internal system into the participative leadership style (Gill, 2011). From my current academic knowledge, I had inferred the knowledge regarding the leadership concept that the people have the tendency of developing fast when they gave the responsibility of their individual progress. I want to learn more about the leadership model that tends to encourage the people to believe that they need to advance the personal skills that get aligned with the professional skills.

Moreover, in my academic career, I have undergone the basic subjects regarding the leadership theories. The majority of the knowledge I received from the theory based sources. I believe that through the theory based knowledge I would enable to expand my knowledge regarding the leadership concept to a minimum point. However, the practical experiments on the specific theorem would help me to understand all possible essence of the subject from my personal experiences. According to Michael & Adeniyi (2007), the foremost objective of the leader is motivating its team members and encouraging them to present their optimised effort towards the organisational productivity.  To understand the overall concept of motivation, I am highly eager to learn about the Hofstede’s motivational model. My academic module to a certain extent covers the nutshell of Hofstede’s motivational model. I am not entirely aware of its hygiene and the motivational factors.

The internship program would be effectively a considerable medium to experience the corporate actions (Rolková & Farkašová, 2015). In the book and several e-learning sources, I have been able to receive the theoretical knowledge which the past scholars have written from their individual experiences. I would enable to understand the acute essence of the secondary theories when I will manage to receive considerable hints of the practical corporate scenario. It is obvious that  I will not be allowed to lead a team, but I would be performing under team leaders. Thus, I can effectively learn the expertise which a leader requires for the lead a group of well-motivated members.

The assignments are comprised of both the primary and the secondary analysis. Therefore, I would prefer collecting the feedbacks of certain primary responded with regards to the leadership concept. Moreover, would triangulate the primary data with the secondary information to arrive at a viable conclusion. I might be fortunate enough of receiving the useful information of certain successful leaders. Therefore, the responses of the leaders would be the useful content for my assessments through which I would enable to receive a hint of the corporate scenario and the mentality of the employees within the corporate environment (Schmid, 2006). The specific aspects would automatically help me to understand the leadre4ship subject and also lead me to get prepared for my professional career. Considering the opinion of Ryckman (2012), perception can be derived that the corporate and the leadership scenario changes with time. Therefore, a candidate that is planning to step into the corporate system shortly needs to maintain a  good network. The specific approach would help me to remain updated with the corporate leadership scenario.

I prefer to be a leader in the marketing department. Therefore, I found my developmental opportunities in learning the concept of branding, advertising and indirect marketing channels. Nowadays the internet marketing has been emerging with a rapid motion. Therefore, I think of expanding my knowledge in the e-commerce domain through the professional digital marketing courses. The e-commerce includes various internal and external methods. I need to develop my knowledge through the professional courses and apply the technique in the practical scenario.  Adding to this, the perspective of the digital marketing is one of the emerging trends. Thus, the course of digital marketing would help me more to stabilise my career growth. On the other hand, the market is also focused on the facilities of the digital marketing. Thus the features of the digital marketing would help me to promote the organisational products and services more efficiently rather than the traditional process (Rolková & Farkašová,  2015). Along with this, the concept of leadership style would help to deliver a robust work culture within the organisation.

Tsumoto (2009) stated that the self-confidence is the relative aspects that often lead a simple personality towards an administrative position. While conducting the specific study, I have generated the idea that my self-confidence is not sufficient enough to lead a group. While conducting a SWOT analysis on myself, I have recognised that I feel introvert while speaking before the public. Thus, the specific drawback might prevent me from getting selected in the interview round. Since, my career choice is being a leader in the marketing department, thus, I want to try out every possible initiative to increase my confidence level. Sethuraman & Suresh (2014) stated that the major responsibility of the market manager is to convince the clients with a confidant body language and to distribute the positive energy amongst its team members. Therefore, I need to increase my confidence level to make a positive contribution towards the profile.

The patience is the most important aspect a leader needs to inbuild within the self (Van de Vliert, 2006). The team members would be comprised of different perspectives, which might collide with the mentality of the other members. Thus, being a leader I need to be patient enough to figure out the issue and resolve the matter tactfully without hurting the sentiments of any of the team members.

The present study determines on the significant of the academic knowledge to understand the leadership context. The specific study also helped me to understand the remaining module and the concept I prefer learning regarding the leadership concept. I have identified certain technique through which I would enable to enhance my knowledge regarding the leadership concept. In my future career, I plan to be a leader of a well-motivated group. Therefore, the present study has been effective for me to understand the future opportunities and the technique through I can be able to remain update regarding the corporate scenario. The specific updating of knowledge would initially help me to pass my interview rounds and secondly to develop the leadership qualities within me for the  prospects. Thus, I can effectively learn the expertise which a leader requires for the lead a group of well-motivated members.
