Difference between leadership styles of Apple and Google

The leadership style of Google is unique and unusual, which encourages the creativity and loyalty of the employees of the employees. The main emphasis of the leadership in Google is on innovation. The style of leadership followed in Google is called Free-rein or Laissez-Faire  leadership, which refers to the style of leadership where the employees of the organization are included in any type of decision taken by the management of the company (Choudhary, Akhtar,  and Zaheer 2013).

The leadership style followed by Steve Jobs in Apple was autocratic leadership, which refers to the type of leader who believes in taking his own decisions and the employees will just follow his decisions. This type of leader does not take a collaborative approach when taking decisions related to the organization (Gunter, Hall and Bragg 2013).

Inclusive Talent Management Versus Exclusive Talent Management

Inclusive talent management approach is followed in Google, where the employees are included in the decision making of the organization, exclusive talent management approach is followed in Apple, where the employees are not included in the decision making of the organization (He 2012).

Difference in the structure of the organizations

Organizational structure of Apple is centralized, on the other hand, the organizational structure of Google is distributed and has an approach towards new products (Koch 2017).

The level of employee engagement is high in Apple, due to this the employee retention rates are also high. The reason behind this is, that the employees feel more connected to the company. The recruitment process of Apple is different from that of Google. Both the companies have a rigorous recruitment process. However, Apple has a different recruitment process for different departments whereas Google has the same recruitment process for all the departments and they aim at hiring the best of candidates (Gunter, Hall and Bragg 2013).
