Question:

Discuss about the Project Management Organizes Discipline Framework.

Answer:

Introduction:

A project can be defined as a set of work to be finished in a given period of time. The projects can also be done by constituting a team in an organization. The projects are popularly used in schools, universities, project management and in developing computer software.

Project management organizes discipline framework for initiating proper team work in a project. The project management also helps to achieve desired project goals. In last 60 years many projects have been organized by the help of project management (Deeprose, 2002). The concept has its own approach as well as terms for looking at any projects. The technique of project management consists of financial resources and human material which helps to deliver a unique scope for the development of a specific project (Patel, 2008). The definition of project management does not matter to a huge extent as it stresses on its importance on the point of view to identify the specific work that is needed to be done so that the project is properly managed. The project management manages the non-repetitive work which saves time and the project can be finished faster as it is directly connected to the customer interface (Heerkens, 2002). The main motive for developing project management is that it provides proper coordination and direction in the project. The project can only be successful if it follows the acceptance criteria of the project.

The main objectives of project management are:

  • It defines the necessity of the project
  • The business case is prepared for the justification of the investment
  • Funding and agreement are secured by the help of project management
  • It helps to implement management plans for better development of the project
  • Manages the risk issue according to the project
  • The project budget is managed by project management
  • Also acts as a provider management
  • The project management also communicates with stakeholders as well as project organization

The general components of project management are time, scope, quality and cost. The project management cannot be used regularly (Kerzner, 2001) . It can only be used when the organization introduces a new project and proper team work is needed for that project then only project management can be applied effectively. The project management is concerned to manage separate type of work to achieve the desired objective. It is used in many multinational organizations as it provides efficient and best value of resources which are very helpful for the specific type of projects and it also satisfies the different needs of the stakeholders. There are 5 types of project management processes:

Monitoring- In the early stages, planning should be carried out but monitoring should also be needed so that the project remains according to the budget.

Control- There is no project which is without control so the manager is responsible for the proper management of the project

Communication- A good communication is needed for running a successful project, so to avoid any problems in the project a good communication is needed.

People management- The individuals who are working in the project should be managed properly by the project manager. The manager should motivate the individuals who are working in the project for the better development of the projects.

The main motive of the project management is that it helps to keep the work simple so that it can be easily understood by the project stakeholders (Lock, n.d.). As much as benefits are provided by the project then only the stakeholders can measure the success of the project.

Managing a family wedding is a type of real life project management. It is very easy to sight and appreciate a good organized wedding but the people who are involved in managing the wedding know how difficult it is to organize a proper wedding plan.

  • So me as a wedding planner first of all I should keep in mind the budget and theme which is selected by the bride or groom. As nowadays men are also very interested in planning their weddings, so many different ideas should be provided according to their choice (Mehta, 2007). Once the theme is selected we should see whether the theme is coming under the budget or not if it comes under the budget then its ok but if not we should make changes in it. But we should keep in mind that within the budget we should provide good quality of products.
  • We should note down the important things which are suggested by the bride or groom. They should have many different types of demand which we have to fulfill. So we should manage the project in such a way so that there will be no such issues. So we should work according to the priorities of bridegroom.
  • We should work in a organized way. We should use a folder were we can keep all the contacts, quotes etc. We should also make a list or spreadsheets were we can keep the guest list, the budget planet. Keeping all things in one place helps us later because at the time of payment we don’t have to here and there all the documents will be right there in one place
  • According to the date of wedding we should prepare the guest list so that no one will be missed at that day. According to the guest list we should book hotel rooms. If there will be huge no of guest the more expensive will be the wedding so everything should be discussed properly before setting up everything.
  • We should research how much money to be saved as a part of profits but we should provide good quality of products because what we like is not liked by others so we should keep everything in our mind because customer satisfaction is our main motive.
  • According to the bridegroom we should select the venue, entertainment, catering everything so that they have full satisfaction. And the main point of attraction of every wedding is the food and the dress of the bride and the groom so everything should be properly managed so that they have full satisfaction.

So as a whole to be good wedding planner we should he or she should have knowledge about the project management.
