Essie Coffee is an Aboriginal activist filmmaker and songwriter who has been recognised as a cultural presentation and application for her people's constitutional rights for the Struggle for the justice of Aboriginal rights for Australia's indigenous people. Essie Coffee, also known as Bush Queen, was born Essieina Goodgabah in 1941 near Goodoonga in Northern New South Wales.
Member of the Murawarri people. Coffey founded the aboriginal movement in Brewarrina, and in 1970 that was established for the western aboriginal legal Service. Also, Coffey is an active participant member of commitment to the women issues. Also, a creator of the Magunya Aboriginal Women's Issue Organisation (Chaves, Tonelo & Williams, 2020).
