Introduction

The purpose of the emergency response plan is to develop the procedures and strategies that would help in addressing the sudden as well as unexpected situations. The plan would focus on preventing the injuries as well as fatalities along with preventing any damage to the equipment or building. The Alberta OHS act have developed the adequate standards and framework that would help in reducing the adverse events. The OHS officer is considered as the initial stakeholders who would have adequate responsibilities in identifying the adequate approach towards developing the preventive and response plan (albertalandlord.org, 2021). The employees, OHS officer, contractors, suppliers, supervisors and governmental bodies are the key stakeholders who would develop the inputs towards developing the response plan. The non-governmental organisation chosen for the paper is Canadian red cross organisation, the organisation has work for multiple causal factors and develop extended support towards enhancing the living of people (Canadian Red cross, 2021).

Steps of Emergency Process

The five-step response plan would include the adequate framework that would help in developing the emergency management approach. Prevention, mitigation, followed by preparedness, response along with recovery and prevention are the five steps f emergency process. The paper has currently developed based on the Canadian red cross organisation, the current and continual evolving issue is the pandemic situation that has been caused due the outbreak of coronavirus/COVID-19. Canadian red cross organisation is working collaboratively towards developing the helping hands towards the people suffering from the causal factor of COVID-19. The first step is prevention, it would include the action that would avoid the incident and reduce the occurrence of incident. The organisation has developed promotional activities by designing the banners towards spreading the awareness among the people about the adverse events of outbreak of coronavirus. The second stage is mitigation that would focus on developing measures and the organisation have developed certain centre and infrastructure that would help in addressing the unavoidable emergencies.

The third stage is preparedness that would include certain activities that would focus on developing agreements, training, and hazardous campaign programs. Therefore, certain availabilities of services were developed by the organisation that would improve the safety and wellbeing support. The fourth step is response that would include the action that would aim towards saving the lives and reducing the incidents. The continual medical support of the organisation towards the community, developing the network of programs such as health equipment loan program (HELP) would focus on providing support to the people. The last step is recovery that would focus on returning back towards the normal conditions. The organisation is considered as an effective approach that would focus in developing policies and framework associated with the governmental factor would result in enhanced health outcome (stlouis-mo.gov, 2021).

Emergency Response Plan

The emergency response plan would include the initial requirement towards identifying the potential emergencies. Therefore, the initial factor would include the identification of potential emergencies and it would include poor health outcome during the pandemic crisis situation. The emergency training requirement would include the skillful staffs with multiple learning modules that would help in adequate delivery of training. The emergency communication requirement would include the approach of seminars or campaigns for overall healthcare promotional activity. It would include the usage of multiple integrated communication technologies along with the usage of multiple associated digital platforms of communication. The first aid services would be educating and developing awareness among the people to seek help from the organisation that would enhance their quality of life. The designated and evacuation workers would include the staffs, volunteers along with partnered healthcare professionals that would work in collaborative approach in reducing the overall transmission of the Coronavirus within the community.

Short- and Long-term Plans

The short-term plan towards imposing the situation back to the normal, it would include the strategies such as limiting the number of workforces visiting the office or site. The adequate preventive measures such as usage of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and other essential elements that would help in reducing the transmission. The continual policy towards maintaining the social and physical distancing would help in enhancing the overall delivery of heath outcome. The long-term plan would include the strategy of developing the policy and frameworks such as provision of loan for medical expense, provision of vaccination and adequate help that would meet the overall needs of the healthcare outcome. Maintaining and adhering to adequate policies that would help in developing the safety measures for the people in managing their health (Amatya & Khan, 2020).

Conclusion

From the above discussion, it can be stated that the organisation is the non-profit organisation that is working towards meeting the needs and demand of the people. It is important for the organisation to develop the emergency response plan against the continual outbreak of COVID-19. It would help in reducing the adverse events and any occurrence of incidents.
