COMP107 Introduction to Academic Writing

I am highly impacted with knowledge from the University of Houston to serve in different fields to offer excellent services in the office of the mayor. For instance, in the office of the mayor docket of education, I have knowledge and skills on scholarly programs that can help in content creation. This is essential in running of academic affairs in Houston town (Mikhail 13). I can also be helpful in dealing with the docket of complete communities, I will also benefit from the interaction with people from the society especially with communication skills as we try to solve the matters they have raised. Houston University also shares knowledge in engaging people with people with disability. This includes finding out their challenges and finding a way of helping them from providing of health support, economically and equity in the field employment. This is a great opportunity to put my theoretical part of knowledge into practice on government affairs. The structure and different parts of the government are well stipulated in the books (Jackson 221). By joining the Houston municipal, it will give a chance to exploit on the practice of the same leadership roles. The municipal offers full view of event through the leadership positions invested through its system of governance starting from the mayor’s office. The topics studied under are crucial in the society of Houston, the relevancy of the television (Rodriguez 5). Through the municipal television I will help through educating and informing the society of Houston on the government policies that require attention from the public.

Through knowledge in research and diplomatic relations, I will be a valuable asset in the field of research and preparation support materials for diplomatic and beyond the business, developmental initiatives and research. Houston University has offered knowledge in meetings and engaging in meaningful, it has prepared me for the stuff meetings between the mayor and other local leader in the Houston municipal. Through research, the Houston University did offer interaction of the students with the community. Some of the outcome from the community show positive results hence the internship at the mayor’s office will mean addition of new and more practical knowledge. The research mostly has an impact on the mayor’s office administration, social media, community outreach and offering of the protocol respect of the positions present in the municipal.

I have been involved in different types summits that involves university leaders coming together to discuss matters affecting the students (De Graauw 20). The mayor’s office offers the same opportunity through the network set to interact with several leaders from other town municipals and countries interact and give a better selection of policies that will improve the governance of the municipal. In addition it will offer me an opportunity to sit in the council that involves making and implementation of policies in the municipal. This means a lot to me since at the end of my intern session, if offered this opportunity I will be able to offer my experience to other colleagues at internship summit. It cuts across to the field of employment, where it will act as my working experience during interviews after studies at Houston University.
