Educational attainment is considered to be an important factor for every individual around the world as it can help them to grow and develop both in personal as well as in the professional field. From the survey result, it is analysed that Tasmania is faced with various challenges with educational attainment in Tasmania. In addition to that, the survey results also highlighted that level of schooling for children aged 8 years and below is analysed to be at 4.9 percent in the year 2016, which decreased from 5.1 in 2011. Similarly, for children aged 9 or equivalent has decreased to 8.2 percent in 2016 from 9.4 percentage in 2011.
Another chart showed that level of schooling in Tasmania for children aged 12 or equivalent is lower than that of Greater Hobart, which reflects the underlying issues of educational attainment in Tasmania, which is highly interesting. It can be assumed that lowered levels of educational attainment in Tasmania might negatively impact their economy as well. As a result, it can restrict growth, which might cause a negative effect on their nation’s growth even in the long term. In addition to that, a graph also showed that people aged 8 or below who did not go to school is higher in Tasmania as compared to Greater Hobart. Similarly, children aged 9 and 10 or equivalent reflects Tasmania in a higher rank of students who did not pursue schooling as compared to that of Tasmania. The survey was conducted in 2016, which also showed the lack of opportunities children are exposed to education in Tasmania due to various reasons.
Another graph developed from survey results in Tasmania showed that individuals or children aged below 8 or 10 and equivalent pursued schooling in a local school or educational institutions. However, the graph also showed that individuals or children aged 12 or equivalent did pursue schooling (from survey of more than 15,000 individuals). Thus, various government approaches might help to eradicate the issues by implementing appropriate measures for the education of children in Tasmania.
One of the root causes for the challenges in educational attainment is due to lack of government approach towards education of children. From the journal, it is analysed that more than 44 percent of population dropped school by the age of 10 whereas 38.3 percent finished schooling by the age of 12 or equivalent as compared to 37.2 percent & 46.4 percent respectively in Greater Hobart. Low level of education can reduce potential job opportunities in the market and increase competition in the labour market of Tasmania. As a result, it will lead to low cash flow in the economy causing major setbacks for the nation (Tasmania).
