The article revolved around the dilemma of whether the Christians teachers should teach Christianity in a different way. I felt that the article revealed few guidelines for how to and what to teach about Christianity to the students. After reading the article, I realized that the article revealed that there were many ways that are adopted by Chrisitan teachers to teach Christianity. From the article I realized that some takes traditional approach that places students in the position of sinners whereas some teachers take a modern approach where they miss out the secular values. The author of the article provided two perceptions on how Christianity is taught. I believe that in the first perspective, Christian life is considered a better life where people following this religion is protected from the evils of the society.

This perspective follows a strict method of teaching Christianity to the students. However, this way of teaching is often considered against the culture because it does not involve the society and very rigid in the approach. On the contrary, another perspective stressed on modern approach of teaching Christianity. According to my view, many orthodox Christians, this method of teaching is against the Christian view as it involves more on the society and less on the religion views. This view believes in progression rather than holding up the traditional view and being rigid in their approach.

This view focused on the student’s life and understood that every student cannot be taught in the same setting. That is why this approach was more flexible. It is revealed in the article that the teachers who followed this rational approach of teaching Christianity had more affirmative attitude about institution-based learning than the ones who followed the rigid approach. Therefore, after reading the article, I feel that the second approach should be the only way to teach Christianity to the students since it really understands human situations and encompasses society in the approach.
