Internet of things are referred as the physical devices that are connected with internet globally and this device are designed and configured for sharing and collecting data. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a term that describes a network of linked objects and computers that can be wired or wirelessly connected to the Internet. As these devices are used for a range of purposes such as communications, transportation, schooling, and business development, the Internet of Things, or IoT, has increased in importance. (Shahid and colleagues, 2018) The Internet of Things (IoT) pioneered the concept of hyper networking, allowing organisations and individuals to communicate with one another from afar. In 1999, Kevin Ashton coined the phrase "Internet of Things" to promote the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) definition, which involves embedded sensors and actuators.
The unintentional use of passwords, the failure to change passwords, and the lack of device upgrades have all raised cybersecurity threats and given malicious apps access to IoT systems' sensitive data. Data breaches and other attacks are more likely as a result of such poor security practices. Because of its lax security standards and practices, The IoT devices are considered vulnerable by the security experts for perspective of cyberattacks (Petrenko et al. 2018). There are now well known safeguards that can be implemented for securing the IoT devices installed in the network but security practices are needed to be implemented such that the cyber attacks can be mitigated and the access of the internal servers are restricted for the unauthroised users.
Consumers have reaped many gains from the Internet of Things, but it has also brought with it a slew of issues. The analysts and technology specialists cited cybersecurity and privacy threats as major concerns. As a result of these two reasons, many companies and government departments are in a precarious position. Latest high-profile cybersecurity attacks have shown the vulnerabilities of IoT technology. The main cause of the security issue is for the interconnected framework used in the IoT networks and if one of the IoT device security is compromised the other devices in the network can be accessible to the hackers.Protection and privacy have a larger effect on IoT adaptation than all of the other issues (Salman et al. 2019). Unfortunately, users do not often recognise the security ramifications of a breach until after it has occurred, resulting in massive liability such as the loss of sensitive records. As a result of recent vulnerability flaws that have compromised users' privacy, consumer appetite for poor defence is dwindling. A recent analysis on privacy and protection found that consumer-grade Internet of Things did not do well. There were a number of shortcomings in today's automobile architectures.

The network infrastructure is designed with the application of firewall and it is recommended that a zone based firewall configuration is needed to be used. The zone based firewall would match the destination and the source zone for filtering the data traffic flow in the network. The traffic that are not configured to access is blocked and it can be understood easily and troubleshoot for making any changes in the policy. A single policy can cover the instance of all the data traffic but before the deployment of the zone based firewall an analysis is needed to be made for dividing the network into different zones. The network infrastructure is divided as multiple zones with different security levels. After creating the zone, a policy is created for the zones and initially the setup is configured such that the access to the outside traffic is denied. After it the policy is configured for allowing access to the network.
The network is developed for Mawson Lakes Innovation Center for the development of a network solution and improving the work access. For the development of the network two routers are used for the two branches and the head quarter branch network is developed following the different departments. The network is segmented according to the number of users in each of the department and VLAN is create for allowing access of the user to each of the VLAN. The server are kept in separate VLAN and connected with other interface such that a DMZ zone can be created and the access of the server can be managed following the authentication policy of the company.
