Introduction 

Project management is considered as one of the methodological and semantic approach for utilizing the process, methods, knowledge, and skills for achieving the goal of the project within given resources. In this particular report, the project scope is developed for a ‘company retreat plan for 3 days and 2 nights at Batam, Indonesia’.

The project deals with developing and conducting a retreat company plan for its 20 customers and 25 employees on 13^th September 2016. The members of the retreat program will leave on 13^th September, Tuesday morning from Malaysia and return on 15^th September, Thursday Night. The project has a budget of $40,000.

Project Scope

The scope of the project involves the determining the project goals, tasks, resource allocations. The six check items of the project scope are discussed below-

Project Objectives

The objective of the ‘company retreat plan' is given below-

• To select the location for retreat plan;
• To identify and select the members for the retreat plan;
• To efficiently carry out the retreat plan to Batam;

Project Exclusions

The project excludes the following-

• Site seeing and other adventurous activities in Batam;
• Picking and dropping of the customers and employees from their residence to the airports are not included in the project scope;

Project Priority Matrix

Project Priority is a management tool for balancing between the performance, cost and time of the project.

Accept: The Accept criterion is defined as the measure up to what Performance, Cost and Time of the project are tolerable. 

Enhance: The Enhance parameter defines which of the Performance, Cost and Time of the project can be optimized for enhancing the project.

Constraint: The Constrain parameter defines the elements in the project needs to remain constraint throughout the project.

The Priority Project matrix efficiently shows that cost of the project is borne by the company. Thus it needs to be feasible to conduct the project. The time provided for the project needs to remain constant for conducting the retreat plan to Batan.  This is essential because, the booking of the venue, food and lodging are done before hand. Change in the timings of the project can result in the cancellation of the entire retreat plan. The performance of the project needs to be the constraint as it has the potential to build company's reputation.
