The skills that I have employed include Technical Specialism (TECH), Contract Management (ITCM) and Customer Service Support (CSMG).
Technical Specialism (TECH) depicts the advancement and expertise exploitation within any particular area of communication or information technology, method, technique, application or product.
Contract Management (ITCM) describes the administration and control of the execution of official contracts for the supply of products and services.
Customer Service Support (CSMG) explains the administration and running of one or more customer service or service desk functions. It normally involves being a contact point to support service utilizers and customers who report issues, requests information, access or other services.
Since I am an IT and computer science professional, the above three skills could be essential in my resume. For instance, technical specialism will aid me in developing my expertise and competence in specific information or communication technology field of my choice, application, method, etc. I will also be able to manage contracts accordingly especially with mobile manufacturers or suppliers hence useful in my resume. Customer service support will also be paramount in my resume because I will better place to address the IT needs of my clients satisfactorily.
My present mobile support helpdesk internship position will be notably complemented by the above three skills. There is a rise in the need for qualified service desk professionals (Donna, 2014). It is essential for customer service personnel to be reminded of the essence of keeping customer orientation instead of just work orientation (Warren, 2012). This means I will have to be client oriented in my work. This is in my duties like doing SIMSWAPS and mobile repairs among others.
The contract management skill will aid me in the creation of new mobile contracts in the firm intern at. A contract depicts a legal instrument and specifies the product or service being procured (Steven, 2008). It is paramount for parties to a contract to be aware of the legal principles regulating the formation of contracts (Thomas & Philip, 2009). This will guide me in making prudent decisions when dealing with contracts.
Technical specialism will aid me in executing mobile repairs for the clients in the current firm I am interning at. The skill will ensure the customers` repair needs are well dealt with.
How I could improve my cover letter
I could add the three skills in the cover letter explain my duties briefly at my present internship post and also give my unique personal skills and qualities. The duties will be highlighted and briefly described accordingly. Additionally, the outstanding personal skills which relate to my present work experience and internship will also predominantly feature in the cover letter. This will mean that I will have to increase the number of personal skills that I presently have. I will also mention my aspirations and why I would like to work or be a part of the company I am applying for the job at.
