In the digital world, it helps in ensuring that the business processes are executed properly and the business operations are executed in a safe and secured methodology. As a result, it would be easier for the organization to deal with secured purchases, interaction with the customers online and even scheduling appointments accordingly (Luftman, Lyytinen and Zvi 2017). IT for business is also required for inventory management digitization and the previously existing issues are successfully removed, without any kind of problem. Moreover, the IT tools can be used for gaining maximum competitive advantages.

Background

The application of IT in any business is referred to as quite beneficial as it helps the business in running more securely and efficiently. Hence, the risks can be successfully avoided and data management becomes quite easier. IT can also foster innovation within a business and it results in high level of smart applications, highly improved storage of data, easier and faster processing as well as wide informational dispersion (Rajaraman 2018). As a result, the effect of positive aspects in the business is improved and innovation increases value, enhances quality as well as boosts productivity accordingly. Moreover, the privacy aspects of the organizational processes and tools are improved.

Theoretical Discussions

We have got an idea of the overview of an information systems.  A few vital topics were discussed in this week and these included common application of information systems and computer applications with differences between information literacy and computer literacy. Furthermore, the ideas of computer literacies, information literacies, business intelligence, transaction processing systems and MIS were also provided (Rusyn, Vysotska and Pohreliuk 2018). I even got an idea about four major components of the information system, differences within information and data, application of IS in functional business areas, competitive advantage, five forces model and job market.

Business intelligence can be defined as the historical, current as well as predictive views of business environments and operations and helps in providing maximum competitive advantages.
