Sydney medical Centre is one of the growing practices in the Sydney. The Centre has rapidly increased the number of the doctors and the patients associated. As a result, the owner of the medical Centre has decided to develop a new information system that will have the potential to handle all the basic business requirements. The need to understand the issues are faced with the current system becomes very crucial. The current system is unable to provide real-time information towards medical staffs. As a result, there is a huge need to design a new system. The focus of the assessment to devise a new system with all the necessary functional requirement so that it can provide huge opportunity towards the Sydney medical Centre.
Sydney medical Centre requires a new information system that will have the potential to easily handle the information with the patient’s requirement. In order to develop the system efficiently, it is important to obtain sufficient information regarding the system (Levykin, Ievlanov and Neumyvakina 2017). The different types of system requirements that are going to be collected before developing the new system for Sydney medical Centre include functional requirements, non-functional requirements and technical requirements. Each requirement is needed for the purpose of addressing the way new information system is going to operate. The requirements are discussed below:
Fact finding technique is used for the purpose of analysing the basic requirements associated with the system. It can be stated that with the successful utilisation of a fact-finding technique it becomes easy to understand the requirements associated with the new system. It can be clearly stated that the prioritization of a set of requirements can be carried out much more efficiently with the help of fact-finding method (Alzahrani 2020). The most suitable fact-finding method that can provide support in the development of new information system for Sydney medical Centre are examining existing document of the current system, questionnaire and interview. These methods have the potential to collect sufficient number of facts regarding the system and will also provide opportunities for developing the new system much more efficiently.
System development tools and techniques are used with the motive to ensure that proper way of system analysis is being carried out. It becomes very crucial to ensure that a proper system development tools are being selected while developing a new information system. After understanding the basic requirements associated with the Sydney medical Centre it can be stated that the modelling and Object-oriented analysis are the most suitable tool (Bourgeois-Bougrine et al. 2017). With the help of these two tools, it will become easy to provide with the better opportunities. The need to identify the system requirements becomes very crucial as these will help in overcoming the existing challenge.
The system development methods are used for the purpose of developing the basic requirements associated with the system. According to the current requirements associated with the Sydney medical Centre, it can be stated that the two most appropriate system development method include agile methodology and waterfall methodology. These two methods have the potential to offer huge support towards the development of a Sydney Medical Centre.
Agile software development method is referred to the most suitable software development and approach it through which efficient software is can be presented. Agile software development method follows iterative flow of a project for the purpose of a developing a new system. The major advantage behind selecting the agile development method is the fact that each approach is being represented in an iterative manner (Zamudio et al. 2017). Agile software development follows the five basic principles at the time of developing a new information system. These include improving agility, just-in-time designing and coding, unit testing, writing object-oriented code and applying agile design patterns. With the help of these approach, it becomes easy to carry out the development of a system. It can be clearly stated that Sydney medical Centre will have the ability to develop the information system much more efficiently with the use of agile software development (Tam et al. 2020). The expected advantages with the agile software development include rapid development of the product, continuous delivery of useful software, customer satisfaction and allowing changes at the execution time.
Waterfall software development method is referred to the software development in which a linear sequential flow. With the help of these methodology, it becomes easy to carry out the development of a new system. The major reason behind considering waterfall model as the most reliable ones for developing Sydney Medical Centre system is the fact that waterfall model offers easy way of analysing requirements and defining the products (Nugroho, Waluyo and Hakim 2017). It has been observed that there are no ambiguous requirements present while developing a software using waterfall model. Apart from these the major advantages that are offered with the waterfall model include easy way of understanding milestones, efficient way of arranging tasks and well documentation.
After evaluating both the methodology it can be clearly stated that Agile software development method is the most suitable approach. With the help of these method, it will become easy to achieve the business requirements (Malik, Ahmad and Hussain 2019). It has been observed that Sydney medical system will be capable of operating efficiently with the utilisation of agile approach.
SMC system will be capable of offering better efficiency towards the patients. It can be stated that the new system will create opportunities towards the patients and staffs. The need to develop an efficient system becomes very crucial as this will be capable of streamlining the business performance. The report has successfully evaluated and analysed the basic requirements associated with the SMC system. The paper has ensured that sufficient amount of information is being analysed successfully so that it becomes easy to achieve the target. The paper has discussed all the basic requirements associated with the system so that it becomes easy to achieve the target. The developed diagrams have helped in developing system much efficiently. Hence it can be concluded that the implementation of new system will help in bringing a streamlined system within the business.
