Introduction

In the recent times, a greater number of children are being diagnosed with effects of severe obesity in which their BMI (Body Mass Index) has been showing a tremendous growth than the expected chart values (Hennessy et al., 2019). The displayed rates have been affecting most of the vulnerable populations, specially in preschool-aged children possessing ethnicity and race, while including various social determinants related to health.

Background

The topic under discussion holds utmost importance since it leads to weight issues in children, which primarily has severe consequences towards the health of children. Moreover, high weight among children is also associated with increased risks of diabetes, cardiovascular issues, cancer, and various other serious health concerns (Assari, 2018). Some social determinants leading to childhood obesity among children includes: lower attainment of education, residing within a single-parent household, and belonging below the poverty line.

Significance of Topic

The topic of undermining the different social determinants of childhood obesity would help in understanding the factors, which leads to severe health complications among children. Health factors are considered as a serious concern, which needs to be addressed at the earliest (Moradi et al., 2017). The research proposal is considered feasible since it leads to understanding of healthy eating habits through different innovation strategies.

Research Question

What are the different perceived social determinants in relation to childhood obesity?

Method

While researching over the presented research question, a brief idea needs to be generated in relation to the topic. This study would be performed with the use of academic literatures, which further refers to qualitative methodologies being followed. The use of online databases would be widely used to collect literatures, which includes Science Direct, Medscape, Scopus, and Google Scholar (Deepa et al., 2017). Since, all of the library databases would display different results, the method of choosing proper literatures could be made by the use of proper keywords.
