Answer:

Child development can be explained as the process of growth and maturation of a human individual from conception to adulthood. The child and adolescent development process are crucial as it helps to set the standard for them that how any of the work is needed to be performed by them. In simple words, the effective development of children allows them to ensure their future success which is always essential (Rodwell et al., 2018). On the other side, allowing the children to play is quite important as it helps to identify creativity. Also, it provides an opportunity for children to build imagination, improve their emotional strength which is essential for future success. In the context of the report, some of the crucial information about the children will be included where it will be mainly focused that how they behave in their early days. At the same time, it will be also focused on the given case study and the video lecture to present the necessary information. Finally, the suggested activity will be mentioned to understand the concept in detail.

Introduction to Child

The given video and description provided within the brief helps to understand the case study which relates to Harley who is just a four years child. She is among one of those children who loves to spend her time playing with her different dolls. At the same time, she also likes to play different games where the involvement of her mom and dad can be seen easily (Amagir et al., 2018). But, playing with dolls and feeding them with the help of different toys always remain the top priority for her. Being in the position of children along with her cousin, they conduct each of the single activity which is being done with them in their early days (Bundy et al., 2018).

On the other side, there was an incident that took place where it was found that Harley and her cousin argued about the bag. The bag simply belongs to the cousin of Harley but Harley was not willing to give her back even at her request. Even she wants her dad to be on her side which is a child tendency. But, due to the lack of involvement of father both of them started to fall into a fight but later on the fight was also resolved as Harley return to play her games with toys and the dresses that she had with her. Overall, it can be said that there are some conditions where children may fall into an argument or fight but the main matter is that how much capable they are of resolving those particular issues. The best things to solve any of this issue is to distract the mind as it is the only best solution through which parents can resolve any of the problems between children and give them proper education (Maclean, Taylor and O’Donnell, 2020)

Report Body

It is always necessary that proper education should be provided to children during their adolescent period. It is one of those phases where they can focus and implement on the other half of their life (Kalyani et al., 2018). So, considering the importance of adolescent period, parents must take their decision wisely towards their children.

Observer: Sumaya Mohamed were the one who was observing each of the detail.

Who was present? Parents

What happened before the incident?

It was identified that Harley was willing to say that the bag belongs to her which was of her cousin.

What was the incident?

Although, the matter was not so serious but considering the importance of bag for children both Harley and her cousin had argument along with fight which might have converted into a seriousness (Leung et al., 2019).

What happened after?

After certain time period, it was observed that Harley went back with the dresses that she had and later on she decided to have play with those dress. Also, it was observed that

Follow up actions?

The follow up action taken by Harley was that she started to play with dress and doll which she had with her. And the decision that were taken had been changed and went back to games together (Hosseini Kalaie and Asadi, 2020).

Cognitive Aspects of Development

The given case study suggest that Harley is one of the children who does have a nature to play games. Even she thinks about that all of the things which she has belongs to her and these types of nature must be changed. Here, role of parents increases where they can consider cognitive aspects. Under cognitive aspects of development parents will focus that how they provide specific knowledge to their children so that she can start to judge the situation. Even it is their responsibility that they must guide Harley that on each of the situation she must react on the basis of her experience. In addition, use of cognitive learning theory can be the effective one where they can guide their children about the necessary decision which should be taken on a daily basis  (Cui, Liu and Zhao, 2019). Here, role of listening will certainly play the vital role as it will allow Harley to connect idea and concept in making any of the decision so that any of the similar situation will not arise again.

Language Aspects of Development

It is essential to understand for the parents of Harley that language development is quite necessary for children where they need to guide their children from early days. Here, it is essential that they guide Harley with the help of sounds and actions and responding to any of the situation with the help of communication process. As feeling of Harley was express in the manner of fighting but if proper language aspect is developed then children will present their feeling and thinking. In addition, this will also provide opportunity to develop healthy relation with each of the person who is near around. Overall, language aspects of development will bring positivity for the child like Harley who might become aggressive in some of the situation by considering the given case study.

Suggested Activity

The phase of children is always important for any of the parents as it is one of the age group where they can give each of the education and necessary information which can be helpful for the future period. Considering the given case study of Harley, it was completely understandable that children are completely different where they react differently in any of the situation. Here, the role of parent increases as they are the ones who can help them in guiding that what is the decision that needs to be taken by them and what should not be considered (Gregory, Hastings and Kovshoff, 2020). Also, parents have the option to use cognitive learning theory with their children as it will allow them to provide education. This theory will be based upon the thinking and the capabilities that children. In short, the use of cognitive learning theory will help helps to provide better decision-making capability within their children as their thinking capability will improve (Nandu and Sengupta, 2019).

Conclusion

After having a detailed analysis in the report, it has been concluded that the behaviour of children cannot be the same. The adolescent period is among the most important phase in their life where they can learn several things which can be beneficial for the future period. Also, it is essential for parents that they must be able to look after the development of their children in each of the area as it can only help them to attain success. It will be equally important for parents that they must give focus on their children where the use of different education theory can be effective in obtaining a favourable result in future.
