The symptoms and the effects of the disease was considered as sinister. The most sinister part of red death is the satins of blood on body of the victim.

Each of the room was the metaphor for each value and important things in life. Therefore, passing through each room but unable to catch the stranger represented that he was unable to use any thing to stop death until they reached the seventh room which was the domain of death itself suggesting that all the hopes are lost for the prince.
