The LGBTQ people have the long history in United States the supreme court of U.S. legalized same-sex marriage in 2015 but these people are still facing discrimination. In the following discussion it will be discussed about the vulnerable community reason behind their vulnerability and how person who is in nursing profession can help them. Due to this discrimination the research has been found that nearly one in five members in from LGBTQ community are not taking medical care they are avoiding this the fear of being judge by other and discrimination is very heigh. Moreover, there are racial difference among them for example transgender women who are black are disproportionately having HIV (Joszt, 2018). In the report of healthy people which was conducted in 2020 found that discrimination against these community is the reason of higher rate of psychiatric disorder. In a report it has been found that people who do not confirm their gender or presented as transgender they have more prevalence of anxiety, depression (Joszt, 2018). Some of the general discrimination the LGBTQ community face and which affecting their health is they do not have house they have shortage of health care providers. So, someone who are working as a nurse professional can help them by many ways such as whenever any people from these community come for health issue trat them with respect and as normally as treating with other people also they can help by doing campaign and spreading awareness in society these activities will be very helpful for them.
