The Covid-19 pandemic has left an unavoidable void in the structure and development of Singapore [1]. As a nation that is a melting point of so many cultures and is based on its ability trade and travel in its nation is facing a major obstacle of the lockdown and travel restrictions at hand which is not only affecting the nations own trading relationships but also causing an imbalance of cultural diversity in its population which is full of diverse cultures and citizens who together create the entity of Singapore.
The nation's most impacted sector with this will be its labor force that consists of South Asian and other Asian nations immigrants who come to the nation in millions every year which will directly impact the construction-based development of the nation along with domestic help lack due to the travel ban [2]. The Changi Airport overall is one of the best airports globally is now dull and empty due to the increasing cases on Covid not only in Singapore but its neighboring nations from where the greatest number of people visited Singapore. With its highest level of the population coming from the south and east Asia playing the role of the dominant population along with the Chinese population of the nation [3]. The travel ban has even stopped many of the citizens of the nation outside of the nation in their prior nations like Indonesia and India that are among a nation that has the highest number of limitations at hand [4].
The purpose of this proposal is to let people in the nation who are being kept away due to travel ban by targeting the judging panel for the initiative of reimaging Singapore after the Covid-19 pandemic by bringing in Quarantine pods in Changa Airport for people coming from different regions of the world.
The quarantine pods have 3 features which are to be convenience, safe, and economical.
Firstly, it is convenient as it is present at the airport making it easy to monitor and be used with a direct path and no people will be missed in the process [5].
Secondly, it is better to quarantine people at the airport now that the Changi Airport has stopped locals from entering as a safe space from where the chances of getting in contact with the virus are minimal [6].
Thirdly, as the nation in the prior month's used hotels and other spaces for the process of quarantine was causing a higher level of economic damage which can save space and utilize the area in the airport.
Firstly, the airport authorities will focus on nations that have a higher number of Covid cases and have a sense of ban on people visiting and only allow people that are coming to the nation for working or are already a resident of the nation in this dire situation [7]. Other than that, Changi airport authorities will also create a bio bubble for its employees who have also been one of the major sources of the virus spread in the airport area itself as space can accommodate all well enough especially employees that have to come in contact with travelers.
The potential benefit that can be brought on by creating change in travel methods can be by increasing the current shortage of human capital in construction and manpower overall in the nation that comes from many of these nations but also involve the economy further [8]. It will also ensure that no new variant of viruses can enter the nation and the cases will be controlled in Singapore.
In conclusion, there is a problem with the travel and travel ban restriction cycle in the nation therefore it is a need for the nation to create quarantine pods at the Changi Airport to maintain the traveling flow and the increasing cases of the Covid 19 variants in Singapore. By introducing this new change, the nation’s economic growth and is sociological cycle will be maintained and fewer amount of people will get in contact with viruses coming from other parts of the world.
