GWS102 Global Perspectives on Women and Gender

The chapter 5 media and culture deals with the importance of media in today’s’ world and the way it influences the culture across the world . The chapter, considers media as the highly important tool in guiding the individuals towards the better information regarding the culture . In recent times various technologies have come up that have guided the efforts of the people towards the better  views and content to achieve the right level of results (Blackman, 2015).  As per the studies, the ninety percentage of what television shows is owned by the television channels such as CBS, Comcast, Time warnee, News corp, nand and Viacom that is helpful in showing the best level of channel in right sense.  In recent times, the issue of LGBTQ  was supported by the Disney because of their misrepresentation in the current media and other important stuff.  Further, the blogs and various level of articles are also used as media that are helpful in providing the platform to things like feminist media activism and other important activities.  In philipedia, the project to create the media was undertaken with the motive to brig about the right changes tin best possible ways.  There are various media technologies have proved very useful to developing the best content that included-

Digital technologies-

Digital technologies are the best option that is into delivering the best results to the target people. The digital technologies that are included are social media, videos, documentaries, and posts. In recent times, the digital technologies are dominating the world with their creativity and smart options to lure the people into it (Wheeler, 2018).

Television-

Televisions is the most primitive way through which the advertisers advertises various level of contents  on the television leading t better attention from the people. it had developed the positivity to bring about the positive changes (Sun, Yoo, Park, & Hayati, 2019).

Movies –

Movies are the best form of media that communicates the audiences regarding the particular ideologies and views to the target segment. There various movies that come up that include feminist movies with great movies. The movies can amend the reality of the countries if they are used as a tool for positive change.

Music videos-

The music videos can be helpful in teaching the individuals regarding the current realities of the world. The music videos would develop the positive level of understanding regarding the issues so that better understanding could be developed (Sojourner Truth, 2019) .

Article thinking about Shakespeare’s sister 

• In the article , the author discusses about the conditions of women in those times where they were positioned at a very lower scale . They were not respected as daughters and wives but only considered as an object. The author uses various examples to support his idea that include wife’ beating in various plays and fictions , daughter being locked up in the room for not marrying the mane of their family’s choice and the girl being the slave of the boy to whom she got married.  Yes, these examples are convincing to refer towards the plight of the woman in lower and upper class(Zalsman, 2016).
• Yes , I agree with author’s man idea and point regarding the condition of the woman in those times where they were not given the free will t o live their life in their own terms .
• The most interesting part that I found regarding the article was that even in those times , there were woman who had the courage to be themselves that included Cleopatra ,lady Macbeth and antigone(Ferlatte, 2017).
• The articles can be related to other articles where the women were considered as objects to be won in the courts of great kings.

Article “The wife “By Emily Dickson 

• The poem wife conveys about the idea of a woman getting adjusted to her new life after marriage by giving away her play things.  The author is able to lay the claim through the evidence where the women gives up her small things that brought her joy to take over the responsibilities and duties. Yes, these examples are convincing enough for the plight of the woman.
• Yes, I agree with the author’s main idea regarding the women’s efforts that she undertakes to adjust in her new life with good perspectives. The women efforts were helpful in developing that positive sense.
• The most interesting part that I found in the poem was the flexible nature of   women that how she changes herself from a young girl of playful age to a wife who is completely ready to take over the responsibility in best ways.
• The poem can be related to other poems where women were focused on developing the best level of understanding towards the things so that better understanding could be developed.  The poem will consider the importance of doing things so that better understanding could be developed(Park, 2016).

Poetry is not the luxury by Audre  Lorde 

• The poetry is not the luxury by Audre Lorde discusses bout the importance of poetry and its impact on an individual life. The poetry is something that is considered formless and does not have the right shape in best ways. The author is able to lay claim by focusing on the abstract nature of the poetry and the way it develops the sense of positivity in an individual.
• Yes, I agree about the author’s main idea that includes the depth of inner world that is helpful in developing the sense of understanding regarding various issues. The depth of inner world would be helpful in ensuring the better achievement of the results.
• The most interesting part of the article was that world’ best poems came through the in-depth understanding of the individuals in right sense. The best poem were focused on life’s deepest lesson in right ways(Zalsman, 2016).
• The article  can be resulted to other article that discusses about the im0ortance of using the great  words and tone to express one’ inner thoughts and opinions about life in best possible manner.  It related to the article in right sense in best ways.

• The sexual politics of veggies by Ella Fegatiz focuses on the importance of being vegetarian that comes with the motive to restore the animal welfare and well-being of the people.  the author uses the example of beyonce turning to 22 days vegetarian diet.
• Yes I agree author’s main idea revolves around the vegetarian diet that is based on individual’s sexuality that designs the preferences of the individuals.
• The most interesting part of the article is the controlled diet that is based on vegetarianism that focuses on achieving the right results.
• The article can be related to other articles as they also discuss the importance of staying vegetarian foe better mental and physical growth(Steele, 2015).

• The article conveys the idea of some people like card bi supporting the feminism through social media. The cardi b is rapper that focuses on achieving the better level of results through her raps.
• Yes I agree the author’s idea revolves around the importance of being respectful to all types of women so that better understanding could be ensured.
• The most interesting part of the article is the importance of respecting women irrespective of their class, gender, and occupation.
• The article can be related to other articles as they also discuss the importance of respecting other women in best ways so that right understanding could be developed(Yusuf, 2015).

Sex power and intimacy 

The chapter six discusses various forms of sexuality that intrigues an individual on various biases that considers sexuality as an important weapon to achieve the best form of entertainment.  Every community in the word has formed their own sexual boundaries, and limitations that are to be followed in order to achieve the best conduct. The sexual intimacies cause the deeper connections with fellow human beings so that greater results could be achieved (Staples, 2019).  The sexual intimacies would result in better achievement of the goals in effective ways.  The chapter discusses the importance of having free will in doing sex as it could be the liberating force for an individual.   The act of choosing sex freely leads to greater level of freedom that can cause the best level of outcome in right sense.  The sex can be an empowering force for an individual so that better results could be ensured (Shaw, 2020).  It is helpful in developing the good level of romantic relationships with the opposite sex resulting in greater level of compatibility in right sense. Media literacy is important in developing the right level of understanding to manage the various intimate scenes that are censored on various screens. Feminists are coming forward to discuss the issue of sex between same genders as normal. The chapter discusses the journey of various individuals getting to know their sexual identity that makes them completely at peace with themselves. These issues were helpful in developing the right type of mindset in managing such situation of flux (Landau, 2007).

The Cult of Virginity" by Jessica Valenti

• The cult of virginity article conveys the importance of being virgin in the societal eyes. It puts questions on the definition of being virgin and what it stands for a women. Some of the examples that is given is the narrator’s experience of having sex at sixteen and then being tormented at schools as sexually active children(Saridakis & Cooper, 2017).
• Yes, I agree with the author’s point of view  that virginity is the hype up concept in the society where the women are respected on their purity. The concept itself is very vague as it does describes the correct definition of virginity.
• The interesting part that I found in the article was the virginity mystery where it becomes difficult for the people to describe properly the concept of virginity in best sense.  The article discusses that virginity is all concerned with women where the women are considered unmarried. The virginity is the sense of purity that a female has.
• The article can be related to other articles as it deals with various level of concepts that are related to sex between various genders and people that can affect their virginity in number of ways

The complexities of sexual consent among college students  by Charlene L Muehelnhard 

• The articles discusses about the various level of complexities that the college student faces in obtaining sexual consent. The sexual consent could is highly important as they are helpful in developing the right sense of understanding.  The complexities could impact the situation in number of ways . it focuses on obtaining the sexual consent with the individual s.
• Yes, I agree with the authors point of view that sexual consent is important so that better results could be achieved in right possible ways.  The sexual consent will be helpful in developing the positive level of understanding about things(Shor, 2018).
• The interesting part that I found was increasing stress of obtaining sexual consent among the college students, as it is the most important part of achieving the major level of results.  it is important to achieve the right level of results so that better understanding could be delivered.
• The article can be related with other articles where it had focused on ensuring the better level of sexual consents so that better understanding between various components could be realized in right manner.  further, it also focuses on ensuring the best level of understandings.

The future of fat sex by Francis RAY white 

• The author focuses that as most of the people are becoming fat or obese  with that their sexual health is on a decline  that affect their sexual intimacy with their partner in number of ways. The obese woman  do not have the good sex life as it is difficult for them to achieve the right type of posture in various ways.
• Yes I agree , that the obesity is impacting the sexual life of the individuals in number of ways as they do not have the enough strength to continue with the pain that is required to achieve the better level of results.  The obesity can affect the situation in various ways so that better results could be achieved.
• The interesting lesson that i understood that although fat sex is the big problem but there are various exceptions where fat sex is easy that they are able to derive good amount of pleasure from it.

Queering black female Heterosexuality  by Kimberly Springer 

• The author focuses on the increased level of discrimination among black women regarding their sexuality that makes them feel bad about themselves . they are regarding less attractive than other females.
• Yes I agree, that there have been various instances where black females were projected less as compared susceptible to the people so that better results could be achieved.  The black females were always projected in bad light so that better results could be achieved.
• The interesting lesson that would be learned is that where individual is equal and does not affect the scientific make up of the individuals in various ways.
