Journal 1: Survey on Mobile User's Data Privacy Threats and Defense Mechanisms

This research paper was published in the year 2015 which is based on the security of mobile devices and networks. According to Khan, Abbas, & Al-Muhtadi, (2015), mobile devices are now common for users and companies where communication activities are performed through mobile and internet servers. Today, the uses of mobile devices and networks are increasing quickly and many employees are performing business activities and communication activities through mobile devices. In terms of effectiveness mobile devices are effective by which communication activities can be performed from any location but it is difficult to manage security risks and vulnerabilities related to the mobile networks.

In terms of security, mobile networks are not capable to defend against security threats and risks due to which the transmitted data can be hacked and business networks linked with the mobiles can be accessed. In business communities, many employees access web servers and accounts of their companies in mobile applications where the hackers transfer unwanted signals and produce cyber-attacks and risks easily.

The writers identified that due to insecure data storage in mobile devices, it is difficult for users to protect data from malicious codes or programs and privacy can be affected by cyber-criminals. By targeting mobile devices and included networks, the hackers are capable to access personal information including email addresses, communication with the businesses, organizational data, banking details, account details and many more. The writers conducted a literature review in order to gain significant insight in regards to mobile security and addressed research problems or gaps effectively. It is found that there are numerous security threats and risks are associated with mobile devices that can negatively impact on the users’ data and business accounts accessed by the employees.

These threats include spyware, malware, vulnerable applications, privacy threats, unauthorized activities and many more. It is recommended that the employees should access business networks and accounts with the secured browser and should install only authentic applications so that unauthorized and malicious risks can be managed. Simple passwords should be changed and strong or complex passwords with biometric authentication systems should be applied by which privacy of sensitive data and business applications can be improved.

Journal 2: Mobile Security: Threats and Best Practices

The aim of this paper is to review and identify the security threats related to mobile applications and networks. It is true that using mobile devices, companies are capable to communicate with the employees and users effectively and access business networks so that performance can be managed. However, security is a major problem associated with mobile devices where the hackers can perform hacking activities and data can be hacked. The writers delivered a platform to enhance knowledge and understanding in regards to mobile security and also suggested effective security measures so that security risks can be managed (Weichbroth, & Łysik, 2020). It is found that mobile is one of the major devices used in both societies and businesses where it is important to develop and implement effective security programs so that the chances of a data breach can be managed.

The qualitative design is used in the research where the literature review helped to enhance research quality and manage the security issues associated with the mobile networks and devices. The users are not experienced and aware of security risks and vulnerabilities due to which hackers can affect privacy and stored data can be accessed without users’ permission. This paper examined that phishing is a common security threat that has the potential to transfer spam or fraud signals to the mobile networks and communication channels by which transmitted data can be hacked easily. It is recommended that users and companies should focus on the frauds and spams from mobile networks and should apply for significant security programs.

Journal 3: Security Threats on Mobile Devices and their Effects: Estimations for the Future

The purpose of this paper is to identify and evaluate the security threats related to mobile devices and review the implications of the security threats on personal details and businesses. The mobile operating systems are not capable to manage security vulnerabilities and private details of the users can be accessed. This research provided a way to analyze the malware threats and cyber-attacks linked with the mobile operating systems (Yesilyurt, & Yalman, 2016). It is demonstrated that the hackers develop malicious based third party applications which are installed by the users in mobile devices that enable them to access and reduce confidentiality of the connected servers and business networks.

In businesses, the employees send and communicate with the customers through mobile devices where the presence of malware threats can provide accessibility of business accounts and communication details to the hackers. Malware is a kind of cyber-attack that has the ability to target mobile networks and produce unauthorized activities where hackers transfer viruses, worms and Trojan threats. So, it is suggested that the mobile operating systems should be connected with the security programs and networks so that privacy can be improved.

Website Article 1: 8 mobile security threats you should take seriously

This article focuses on the security threats associated with mobile devices and network security where the writer provided depth information about security threats. According to Raphael, (2021), the majority of the employees access mobile devices in order to interact with the management and customers where data exchange activities are performed from any location. There are numerous cyber-attacks and threats are linked with mobile security for example social engineering attacks, data leakage, Wifi-interference, poor passwords and many more. The writer reported that social engineering and data leakage are common cyber-attacks that enable hackers to target mobile networks and produce data breach problems easily. The presence of security risks and vulnerabilities negatively impact on the confidentiality of the communication channels where the hackers can obtain login credentials of the mobile applications.

Website Article 2: The Latest Mobile Security Threats and How to Prevent Them

The purpose of this article is to analyze the current mobile security threats and develop effective security measures and preventions programs. It is found that due to lack of awareness and improper security systems, users of mobile devices are not capable to manage security issues and suffer from data leakage related problems (Platsis, 2020). The uses of simple and weak passwords to the mobile devices can be hacked by the attackers using malware and botnet programs by which unauthorized activities over the mobile networks and servers. The poor technical controls used by the companies and users to the mobile devices can enable the cyber-criminals to access the email addresses, communication channels, applications and banking details effectively. It is recommended that users should include strong passwords and include multifactor authentication programs so that insider threats or risks can be managed and privacy can be improved in a significant manner.

It may be concluded that mobile devices are not secured and private where malware and phishing attacks can be performed easily. It is found that the included journal papers and articles provided depth information related to mobile security and threats. It is recommended that the employees should access business networks and accounts with the secured browser and should install only authentic applications so that unauthorized and malicious risks can be managed.
