Taking into account time intelligence factor will help an individual to efficiently select a job role that will lead to positive outcomes resulting in personal development.
In simple terms it could be stated that being aware about one’s temporal own preferences as well as implications that these preferences have in a business entity setting is potentially beneficial to an individual’s performance, well-being and individual relations. It is analyzed that temporal intelligence in leadership intend to mainly remained focused on inter-individual referenced temporal practices that mainly refers to leaders’ cognitions as well as behaviours in relation to time that are directed towards followers (Dukerich 1985). It is examined that adaptive form of temporal practices intend to demonstrates leaders’ processes of awareness as well as various behavioural adaption that are usually based on time related dispositional characteristics of followers as well as tome features of their respective job roles. Various research studies stated that an efficient leader should be aware about job time characteristics that are very much essential for effective functioning of job role (Meindl, Ehrlich and Dukerich 1985).
It is analyzed that a leader could efficiently develop awareness of their follower’s temporal preferences mainly via perceiving a follower’s negative emotional reactions to several situations in which a follower is working in a way that is not being aligned to their preferences (Bluedorn and Jaussi 2008). For an example, it could be stated that a leader could play facilitating role in adapting behaviours of followers mainly in order to meet time demands of job. Doyle and Francis-Smythe (2009), it is suggested that awareness of temporal preferences of individual as well as job characteristics relating to Punctuality, Planning, Polychronicity, and Impatience. However, it should be noted that time factor importance could be efficiently understood only when economic goals as well as various measures of performance are being considered by business entity.
