Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group in the society and it encompasses their language, beliefs, practices, and religion among other things that they do as one. All cultures share basic features which they ought to learn and pass on from one generation to another. It is very vital because it provides a guiding direction through which people can enhance the quality of life and increase their overall well-being as individuals or the society at large. Below is a discussion of the Asian culture which includes all its elements of culture that help them live as one society.

The Asian culture consists of the numerous ethnic groups that are found in the continent since the prehistory period. It involves the collective and diverse customs, practices, beliefs, lifestyle, art, architecture, and religion that have been practiced and maintained within the societies. According to Hussein (2018) on gender differences, Asia is seen to have kept gender inequality alive to date. There was a preference for men where they had easy access to higher education, make decisions, secure jobs and get prominent positions, unlike girls who had to struggle to survive and fulfill their potentials as they grow up. This made it difficult for the women to demand their rights and hard to struggle to attain certain positions.

The communication styles were characterized by two main values respect and honor, which made it possible to communicate with each other at different hierarchical levels. They had both verbal and non-verbal styles that helped them in interacting well with others for example in their businesses. Asia is known to be the birthplace of many religions such as Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism among others. With the diversity of cultures, each religion had its own beliefs, spiritual practices, and knowledge of their God that distinguished them from each other.

Asia offers a distinctive cultural experience and they have different traditions that occur from time to time depending on what they are celebrating or practicing. They used to conduct festivals to showcase their beautiful artwork, religious traditions such as partaking of the holy communions to create a connection in the spiritual world, clothing traditions an example is brides wearing red, etc. They highly uphold family values and teach their children of its importance as its major source of identity. Asians have different styles of cooking but the most prominent is the Chinese cuisine dishes. In education, the Asians placed high values on formal education and were mainly deep-rooted in educating people about morality, attitudes, and values which has made them known for their outstanding academic performance. They also have traditional writings and a wide variety of languages that are spoken although English is their official language.

Asia is an extraordinary continent that is full of diverse cultures, religions, languages, and practices that make each group unique in the continent. A place of cultural familiarity where one could share common practices, beliefs, ideas, and opinions makes it a greater place for everyone in the society to interact with each other and live as one (Spencer-Oatey 2012). It is important to preserve cultures and also to try and learn more and understand other cultures to develop a sense of belonging and live well with others.
