SOC220 Introduction to Sociological Methods

Technology plays a very important role in our day to day lifestyle. We have chose the future road from where we can not loo back. Electronic technology has been an important part in our life and it has ingrained in the every fibre of our society. Phones, computers, laptops are the most essential equipment’s for converting the difficult time consuming tasks easily. Those are the important means of connecting with the world so easily. This paper will talk about and focus on my life experience how I felt when I shut off all the electronic devices like phone, laptop, computer and radio and what did I experience how did I felt like. (Alghamdi, 2016).

It is true that we are living in the era where gadgets and smart technologies and communication is taking place very easily and through these gadgets who staying active and connected socially by connecting with our friends and other people. Since humans are social animals they try to connect with the social world more often. So when I shut down my all devices from where I can connect with every one at first I realize how useless I am feeling , I was feeling frustrated, irritated and was thinking when can I get back my phone.( Kabanova & Vetrova 2019). I was  going through FOMO for at least 1 hour. Then after  sometime I though and realized how these electronic gadgets have impacted on our daily life styles. I realized we have forget to talk with our loved ones, stopped enjoying the scenic beauty of nature, hardly play we our pets, talk with our grandparents. I realized I am indeed connect with the social life but in my own home I  am losing all the connections with my own family members, because we are so busy in engrossing our times in phones, laptops, and other gadgets. After realizing these aspects I started reading a book and was enjoying the scenic beauty off the nature, eventually I started feeling so good refreshed and relaxed. I also played with my little puppy and was gossiping with my parents and grandparents and then I understood how important it I to connect with your own life rather than always gazing over the smart  phones. Since I was initially sad but later I was actually enjoying the moments without the gadgets and most importantly I was enjoying each and every moments of life but yes at some point of time I was having little urge to check on my phone if something important has come up or not. At the end it was indeed very nice experience I had for 3 hours without any gadgets. (Muniraju, Amarnath & Ashwini 2018).

Therefore from the above discussion it can be concluded that I had certain problems initially but later I felt extremely relax and refreshed and felt the importance of keeping some me time rather than gazing continuously over phone and connecting with the social word. I indeed had a great experience.
